Before The Ghost Who Stayed?

Yes, read Book 0 first if you are new to Trap of Desire. Book 0 is free, complete, and designed as the entry point. It introduces Luna, Leonard, the Caravaggio anthology, and the forty-three pages that make Sophia's story sharper.

The Ghost Who Stayed can stand alone emotionally, but it is not the best first door. It is the second door. The universe is built that way on purpose.

Why Book 0 Comes First

Book 0 gives you the central object: the damaged Caravaggio anthology with the manuscript pages inside. It also gives you Luna's position as the person who finds something Leonard did not choose to give her.

Without that discovery, Sophia's story is still moving. With that discovery, Sophia's story becomes charged with context. You understand what the manuscript becomes after it leaves the private history of her relationship with Leonard.

What Book 1 Adds

Book 1 turns toward the past. It shows Sophia's four years with Leonard, the texture of their intimacy, and the way an unfinished relationship can become part of a manuscript's structure.

It does not repeat Book 0. It reframes it. That is why the reading order matters. You first encounter the mystery as Luna does. Then you enter the history that made the mystery possible.
