Victor is a 37-year-old art broker based mostly in Paris, sometimes London, never anywhere for long. In the Trap of Desire universe, he is The Architect of Freedom: dangerous, charming, restless, and far more protective than he admits.

He moves paintings through channels he does not name. The paperwork exists. You simply do not need to see it. That sentence tells you almost everything about Victor's place in the universe.

Leonard's Oldest Friend

Victor's relationship with Leonard is one of the oldest threads in the series. They have known each other since they were twenty-two, which means Victor has watched Leonard write four novels and avoid the truth in all of them. Leonard, in turn, has watched Victor destroy good things before they can fade naturally.

They understand each other too well to be surprised. That does not make their friendship easier. It makes it sharper.
